I got a job mowing the yard. As far as prison jobs, this is one of the better ones. The pay is still just a whopping .17 per hour. It’s not about the money at this point, but something to do. I dunno if you know this, but I have a lot of free time on my hands. Better still, work is good for the soul, a sense of purpose.
The mowers are old push mowers, with no self-propelled mechanism and padlocks on the gas tanks, so someone doesn’t siphon the fuel and light someone on fire. That used to be fairly common in the glory days of prison, when everything was more violent and racist. Every place evolves.
