In the movie “About Time” the main character inherits the ability to go back in time; every male in his family possesses this ability. His dad tells him how to use it and what the rules are–he’s not able to use it to affect world events or get wildly rich. Too many adverse, unintended consequences. His dad would go back in time to relive the best moments of his life, and catch up on his reading. He uses it for love, and eventually marries Rachel McAdams, who’s in every time-traveling love story.

A couple years back, I would’ve picked that superpower over all others. I would go back in time, and change basically every major decision since I was 15, starting with the choice to pick up smoking. I would go back in time and save lives, not as a superhero, but as someone very ordinary.

But I can’t go back in time. I have to live with the wreckage of past decisions, and make a life from the ruins. The courageous thing to do, instead, is to wake up everyday and vow to do better than yesterday. Over time, hopefully, that adds up to something.

  1. Brendan it’s Baz. Always find my way here every so often after seeing it pop up on instagram . I’m assuming you’ve already came across but if not, you should try the Wim Hof breathing method . A form of Holotropic breathwork, that induces profound states of consciousness and relaxation. I’ve been experimenting with different forms/techniques the past few years and really enjoy it . Figured I’d bring it up based on the small chance you haven’t discovered it yet .
